it is sweet week.. dont expect too much from me.. I have no interest in this stuff

omg cravat is such a wanker..... Zumbo is the dark lord of pastry.. seriously?

mystery box... potato chips choc some sort of jap citrus dish liquorice... Misty drifts off.... gutzy picks up the potato chips salt and vinegar even.... Ben has no idea how you would use them in a dessert

75 mins you have to use one of the ingredients and the stuff under your bench

Jess is just so happy... I have no idea what she is making but it involves choc

zumbo suggest salt and vinegar and choc..... and off he goes and I cant keep up

Ben is keen on the passionfruit.. so am I I keep hearing , is it youzoo curd.. hell what would I know

sarah did she say chip sandwich with sv icecream... he looks stunned too

I cant keep up with it reece is making something with all the ingredients from the sound of it

Sarah is determined...there must be vinegar as well as salt when you taste
kristin is positive she is in

he wanders around offering advice.. most of it goes over my head

Reece smells it and says ooh it is like drs... and trails off

jess seems to be using all the ingredients too!!!!

Reec tells us it is a dessert challenge and everyone is using freezers.. he has a sorbet and a parfait....

now Khanh is trying a croq embouche...of course it looks okay until he tries to move it crash it comes falling down

well that's it

some look good some look like absolute disasters

ben is up first meringue kisses with yuuzoo curd.. they tend to like it

jess dont even ask!!!!!! looks like a ball of fairyfloss with glaze choc mousse..... gary said it looks great but after a couple of mouthfulls it is too heavy

Sashi again not sure.. I hear mousse and it looks like it has crumbs around it

Sarah and her chip sandwich..a discussion of after school habits ensue

they love reece's dessert although to me it looks pretty off....

so... ben and reece won

teams stat discussing what t hey will do/ some are better at pastry and others at filling

khanh and hooda are talkng about apple pie filling no one is impressed.. wonder if it is too heavy zumbo said it is one dimensional...but t hey stick to it

Jess and nona.... gonna make it into a cube.. like that one in Adelaide filling caramel cream pat and some sort of kaffir lime...nona does the shu... and into the oven it goes

chloe and kristin are a bit behind on the shu pastry gary and zumbo pale when they hear they are still making it

ooops jess realises that the door is open........... but it sorta seems okay

gutzy hustles CK... still not in the oven

omg sarah and sashi are using fenel............. disgusting it is a damn dessert/// fenell a nd cinamon.......???? cravat likes it... sarah is going a brzil nut one too.. they taste and think it is bland... what did you put in the cream cheese.. add lemon or herbs sashi said use the fenel

brendan and samira focus on t he filling... not a cream pat but something to do with caramelised white choc.. the mind boggles

now jess checks the shu... oh dear the look awful.. not rising not puffy... damn oven door

gutzy appears... and zumbo more like portuguese custard tarts.
cakey.... not gonna work... but gutzy said they taste good... sweet.. use your imagination// see what can be done

too dense to fill...
nona cuts in half and is trying something...making a biscuit sorta thing... it might work.... but t he curd isnt good either......

assembling takes forever... sarah is panicing
hooda and khan mixture too wet... adds to cream pat in blender and it works

some build and others try using the cone....

samira and brendan are calm as they try and assemble it

some weird looking ones

hooda and khanh.. they liked it

brendan and Samira..... zumbo liked it but said the rosemary filling wasn't quite right...flavour is important in this test

sarah and sashi.. get praised but perhaps way too much fenel... not enough other flavours
kristin and Chloe ..looks nice enough in a mumsy way.... how does it taste? good filling says Gary.... mmmmm and talking with mouthful.... I think this one worked.. textures and flavours are good
.. the two fillings go so well together but are totally different

they call the boys down to try it

now jess and Nona it looks good
the cream is in the centre so you can dunk says gutzy
Zumbo commends the effort it looks beautiful but the flavours got lost
Gary warns them to be ready for the challenge

so who won....of course Kristin and Chloe
now who is going up for elim? nona and jess... the irony of it all... and sarah and sashi

so we have an elim test

will sashi use one of his pins... he is thinking that the finals will be good with two pins.. but normally they only work during reg season... he decides to use a pin so he is safe... three girls have to make a pretty birthday cake

apparently it is an exercise in precision... sarah seems to be at odds with the chef and poor old Nona is doing her best...she just doesn't cook this way...jess is powering along ..totally in her element.. her creamy stuff is tasted and they love it.. the damn thing is pink and white striped...

nona forgot about the freeze dried raspberries.... Kristin notes how nona put them all in one mixture and it isn't going to work.. apparently it is going to seep and spoil the look of it.. Nona realises it too... sad

oh no Jess puts some broken yolk into the sponge... it is hard to get it out. Even the smallest amount can inhibit the growth of the air pockets which make a sponge... I never cook sponges...

now sarah has dumped her sugar into the flour...
