gary loves it simple delicate and well balanced

I'm having a family problem that's been keeping me occupied at the moment. A sad issue for me. It's going to be quite a while before things get back to normal for me. If I'm slow in responding, at least you'll know why.

right today we are at Luminare in south melb
6 ourse vegie degustation yuck each person is responsible for one course only the best dish is a winner .. the old finals week crap the rest are up for elim

the charity second bite gets all the proceeds of the challenge and all the food they cook with is f rom second bite donations

chloe up first and she has cucumbers as her hero element

the rest are downstairs unloading ingredients

she does a cucumber salad charring pickling..use the whole ingredient..makes seawwed from the skins by adding soy sauce.. interesting

now it is Ben, gross celeriac.. never tried it just the look of it

george fusses over Chloe.. change these around these top ones wont get pickled

gutzy says to khanh I am not gonna let you fall behind, oh lord he is an old nag i there ever was one! but out it goes
Judges like t he smell of it... it is okay I guess.... now how does it eat? Gary likes it ,, scrapes the plate clean.... not really sure w hat cravat thinks... , I think he likes it

Judges get it and are very impressed.... gary loves it....so does cravat.. great flavours.... perhaps just a tad too thick... gary admits he is being really picky

jess does a tester for george... he tries it... sweet.... it is too sweet.. I told the silly girl.... she fixes it up a bit ... but no it looks good the judges think.. but the flavour is not there

now Reece is fussing around

sashi is up.... I guess it is okay..... they love it.... now eat it and it works and they love it.....

now Reece again and the tarragon is all wrong... apparently it is different wen it is deydrated.. bitter and too strong.. he ditches it and hunts for something green...gutzy hurry up plate up he finds fennel instead... right time to plate

looks good.... judges get it.... gary scrapes his plate. cravat says it is a bit boring.. gary ate it all but agrees it could have more texture... this dish does not really hero blackberries

now it is time for the diners to donate
