Dereks cake came out nicelybut it hasnt cooled enough to put the frosting ontop
he puts the frosting under it instead his ice cream looks very soft

Nicoles icing is melting she is putting it in the fridge checking her ice cream
- it hasnt churned properly so she cant use it

Everyone has a dish even if they dont all look pretty

Her dish looks amazing Broth is punchy lots of ginger
so much going on but that broth is sensational
you used time to the max and pushed yourself Delicious
She has set a high standard

2 things they like, the bug soft and tender and texture of snow peas
but the dressing isnt right
nice flavours though sometimes you get stuck on an idea but it is sometimes worth listening to the judges Carrots, ginger a great combination
billy is all for the icing underneath as there is more than if it was put on top

Nicole now her icing has visably melted
She looks disappointed in herself Definitely hit the ginger flavours

and finally Anushka
nice little dish and it does look good
lovely subtle broth with flavour
tasty and full of flavour and delicious

Anushka is to pick from 5 iconic qld ingredients
cloches will then go back on them and ben has to blind pick his ingredient
The ingredients to pick from are Honey, Macadamias, Pineapple, Finger Limes and Lemon Myrtle

Anushka picks Pineapple to do a dessert
She is making a layered cake with an oozy centre
judges will know who has done what as Anushka has made layer cakes before

Anushka is moving onto her italian meringue

Ben is plating so he can taste it, he thinks it needs more dimension
looking in the pantry and adding raspberries

Anushka is assembling the cake but realises she has overwhipped the meringue so she whips up some cream to replace it

she says it looks pale and unappealing-

lemon myrtle used beautifully, perhaps a little less raspberry

they knew immediately who cooked it..what a wonderful cake with a liquid centre
a bit of a surprise in the middle but its not the sort of dish to beat a professional chef a great choice of ingredient but a missed opportunity...that sounds harsh to me

Cooking at Noosa surf life saving club today on BBQs
They have mentors today, Elena Duggan and Matt Sinclair
Since MC Elena has gotten married and is currently pregnant season 8 winner no idea who she is how quickly we forget

Walleed, Sandeep, Derek, Abbey, Anushka, Larissa, Tati are Blue Team and Waleed is captain

Joe captain ,Ben, Steph, Simon, Tessa, Christina, Nicole are the green team
1 meat, 1 seafood and 2 sides which must all go on 1 plate. serving 150 people each
Elena is mentoring the green team, Matt the blue team

Blue team is doing Asian
Lamb cutlets with a marinade..
Prawns for their seafood.
A green mango salad is one of their sides

Green team is also doing prawns.
Steak for their meat.
they are doing a sunshine salad for a side
and bbq eggplant as the second side

Joe has decided not to cook but to oversee everything
Lots of meat to prep for the steaks
Larissa, Walleed\ and Derek prepping the lamb
Sandeep suggested the lamb cutlets but isnt helping to prep it
Matt advising Walleed to make sure he knows what everyone is doing
30 mins down 2hrs till service starts

Blue is doing lamb cutlets, butterflied prawns, with a garlic sauce and mango salad

Elena is concerned the green team has 2 different styles going on asian and italian
Joe is trying to make the eggplant more asian

Steph tells him v ery firmly she has the eggplants done... she has wasted haf an hour.. so okay they agree to change this dish maybe get rid of the tomatoes.. she adds 4 different varieties of mushroom and onions and an Asian dressing

Matt tells Walleed his is way too quiet.. Walleed cannot lead to save his life
they are doing but there is no leadership

Joe finding out where each person is at with their dish
Simon and Tessa working on butterflying the prawns tumeric and garlic butter.. mmmm
Lots of communication in the Green team. blue team is so quiet in comparrision

Matt is so confused by what Walleed is doing

Derek is cooking the lamb perhaps a bit too early for it?
Nicole is starting the steaks now, searing it on the grill then finishing it in the bbq as an oven

Matt has pulled Walleed aside Matt is trying to give Walleed the confidence to lead the team Walleed is finally starting to push the team a bit

George saying he forgot Walleed was the captain until now

Green Nicole loves to BBQ but cooking for this amount is a whole new level
her tester steak is raw in the middle ( looks good to me)
Time could get the better of the Green teams steaks
Nicole is cutting them in half to get them to cook quicker
Jo asks her if she is okay.. she isnt but she is persevering

Matt drags the blue team give me a run down... he asks everyone how they are doing the papaya salad is work intensive and Anushka and Tati are finding it tough

green Steph happy enogh with the eggplant Elena tastes it and agrees

15 mins to go and guests are arriving

Walleed yells get the prawn on blue team is starting the prawns...mmm looking goood
gary looks frustrated come on lets move it to the green team

Green finally has a production line going and food headed out pickled egg and mushroom salad prawns sunshine salad

Matt says they arent doing bad for a team challenge and beef looking good
Blue teams prawns look really good

first up with the judges is the blue team
Charred prawns with green mango papaya salad lamb cutlets and charred eggplants
they love the looks of the prawns. contrast of the dishes makes sense

loves the way the prawns are cooked
George says a posh BBQ. everything is balanced and works well together
tasting the eggplant and chops
lamb is inconsistent= georges is over cooked = matts is cooked perfectly
hard to cook lamb for 150 consistently = great colours great textures but will the lamb send them to elimination?

Green teams prawns are really closed up instead of butterflied

are the prawns split? they are but they bbqd them together
The prawns are hard to eat and very over cooked
a waste of all the hard work the idea of splitting it is to get flavour and cook it quickly
cant pick up any of the ginger they said is there
the sunshine salad is delicious, textual
they love the eggplant mushroom salad
lovely dressing and texture
beef is cooked beautifully,,lovely well balanced plate
