Adding a bit of water to the dough
Seems to have helped and it is finally rolled
Simon is cooking his lamb
Ben cooking his prawns with 7mins to go

Kyle working on his mushrooms
Pork is still in the pressure cooker. Finally opened it and the pork looks cooked but Not as soft as he had hoped.
Putting it on the habachi grill with the mushrooms
Joes pasta is too thick But he doesnt have time to fix it

only 5 mins to go
Ice cream has only been in the churner for 14mins and it is out and in the freezer
Lamb looks to be cooked nicely

Stephs tart is done
Kyles dish has a lot of flaws
Joe is panicing still

He says nonna at home would be asking what is he doing
Time is up

Simon first he is worried he cant be here t o explain it
Judges like the look of it Gary likes the look of the sauce and the taste

they are all enjoying it good flavours you would be happy to get it a a resaurant

Joe depressed too ...dish not right hope he is safe..... it looks nice from here. Gary said it is very simple gutzy hopes ricotta is home made.... he also w ants to tell judges what it should have been...
they eat.. Cravat likes it Gary loves the sauce and the ricotta.. pasta is too thick an dnot enough filling and gutzy agrees.....

now Steph with the salted caramel tart. gutzes look eager... nice colour on the pastry... they eat and they like it all Gary says I love it. The ice cream a showsopper... ey all agree

Ben and the prawns.... not that keen on the look of it gary smells it.... gutzy eats it....prawn hed and all cravat likes the sauce. good dish Gary likes the spice in the Sambal.. just not keen on the texture.... Gutzy the prawn head not prepared properly legs removed.. wrong not cleaned properly wrong

Kyle braised pork ribs.. not keen on the look of it but likes the idea... seems well caramelised... they eat.... gary asks what is the sauce cravat goes oh dear... apork not cooked well skin all chewy emulsion does nothing for it cravat said pork is horrible..

two dishes were great Simon and Steph's lamb and tart
Joe's pasta was enough to make him safe

prawns vs pork... prawns had enough flavour to save him

Here we go first ever masterchef in QLD episode
Lovely Brisbane views at the Howard Smith wharfs.. near the Valley end

they are cooking on the water front tonight
Gary asking Tessa to pass on her favourite places
Fireworks for MC on the wharf
Tati is so excited. She doesnt see fireworks a lot in her town
Tonights mystery box is QLD ingredients
Coconut, crab, quail eggs, Lyche, pork, beer, nuts, oysters oh what crap... none of those things are specifally qld. no green or fresh ingredients

60 mins under bench in play.. must use one ingredient only top 5 will be tasted

No obvious combos here...say what? look at the crab and coconut.. coconut and lychees?

Some interesting ideas here

Simon using the crab and an oyster mayo....

tessa pork lycees hmmmm
Abbey is using a lot of the box ingredients here......is she doing too much? yeah she has gone whacko lyche vinagarette granita fried oyster crab and crispy pork belly skin

sandeep is of course making a curry of some sort.. crab pepper
omg why are they deep frying oysters.. fresh with lemon is lovely

30 mins to go
Tati making some sort of croquette
but didnt think about her ratios and added all her bechemel to the crab, far too much sauce...


Judges are loving some of these combos lots of crab....
Nicole is doing lychee crepes and coconut sauce
Simon loves his oyster mayo and wants to make it again
Everyone is running out of time. 10mins to go

now Abbey... half the kitchen on a plate.... still has to cook crab and fry oysters

Sandeep's coconut crab looks good. he loves the crabs
mmm Tati's croquettes look good.. really big.. and all that coconut
Tessa bacon and eggs.. pork and fried quail.... hmmmm but she is having so much trouble peeling the eggs..... she cant do bacon a nd eggs without the eggs

5 mins to go...
she tries again.. cracking the eggs into the pork fat.. how cute it looks she says

Simon having fun
Abbey plating and is very happy
Sandeep enjoys his dish and of course plates with the shell

so Tati is up first
looks pretty good to me judges love the look of them when gutzy cuts it...tastes good too

Abbey next... the dish looks great..... gary says it looks good cravat crunchy and creamy.. interesting flavours which work well together they all agree

Tess next funniest looking bacon and eggs I have ever seen.... lychee relish goes down a treat.. cravat really keen on it... gary s aid very clever beautifully cooked

Nicole qld crepes she says..... they like it....

final dish is Simon's crab salad.. Challenge to make a salad without the salad...interesting the pickled coconut is wonderful.. Cravat says you arent sure what you are going to get... sweet or sour.. wonderful.. I wouldnt mind trying this

so who won....Simon... good on him .. off to an immunity challenge

next...oh look food trucks!!!!... 7 trucks two people in a truck to feed over 400 people. 2 and half hours to prep a nd then an hour and ahalf one dish 5.00 and the other 7.50... donated to charity 2nd bite.... looking for two teams best food and makes most money. and the bottom two worst food and least money

2 dishes per team
2.5hrs to prep before service
Derek Abbey noodles and or rice pork shoulder 7.50
spring rolls... sauce chicken mince 5.00

Nicole and anushka korean bbq and orean fried chook

Vietnamese crispy pork belly and salad 5.00 and beef pho for 7.50
American chili con carne buffalo wings.... hmmm not sure if that is American
get cooking says Gary

Judges think abbey and derek need to rethink their dishes
Chicken and veggie spring rolls and pork noodles for derek and abbey
Set up for deep frying and they arent thinking what they have to utilise change it
Now they are goimg to do crispy pork instead with a salad and glaze

they are happy now.. using t he deep fryers.... people love fried food

Steph is sure that everyone likes beef Pho she is so happy with it too... we are not going home she tells Larri

too tired to keep up with who is doing what.. we will find out!!!

Cravat hurries up the yank dishes.. very far behind

most of t hem are happy
oh no Larri says it is not crispy pork belly... meat tastes wonderful but.... oh dear she realises it was only on 5 and should have been on 7

writing up the menu and none of them can spell
Gary hovers over Derek and Abey.. HURRY up he says

15 mins to go and here come the starving diners

So far no disasters................. 5 mins to go
Sandeep looks like a fish out of water.. but he always does... omg food is raw truck looks like a work yard .. dont know what to do..... Tati agrees . we are in trouble

Tati yes George Sandeep still in panic... but I will make the hungry people chicken

so gutzes are eating Nicole and Anushka's food Korean
Bbq beef bulgogi
Korean fried chicken
loving it sticky and messy fresh slaw
but t he bulgogi is not right it is nice but not right

huge line outside Sandeeps and tatis but they walk away...hurry up
aha it is ready...
food goes to judges...... the love the wings but the chili is mre like a bolognese or shepherds pie or savoury mince
